Welcome to Spanish class!! I am thrilled to have you in my class and I look forward to many adventures, challenges and triumphs. Learning a second language affords the opportunity not only to communicate with people from other cultures, but also to learn about the practices, celebrations, and lifestyles of those people. In this course you can expect to develop a strong command of the basics of the Spanish language, as well as an appreciation for the way that people in Spanish-speaking countries and communities live.
In my class, you can anticipate a lot of fun, laughter, movement and communication in Spanish, but you can also expect to be challenged and to work hard. It is my hope that this balance provides you with as much satisfaction as it does for me. Please know that you can always come to me if you have any questions or concerns, or if you need extra help in any way. See you soon! |
Listening/SpeakingWe will listen to and speak in Spanish on a daily basis. Speaking another language can be scary at first, so it is vital that we are willing to stretch our comfort zones and take risks. In order to develop fluency, we must practice a lot, both inside and outside of class. Check out our Spanish Home Page for more resources that you can use on your own!

Culture/ProjectsOne of the best ways to learn about Spanish-speaking cultures is to hop online and explore that which interests us the most. This year, you will have several opportunities to delve into Spanish-speaking culture through projects, online exploration, articles and videos.
